Find Fun & Sun On A Tropical Vacation
Sunbathing in Cozumel. Snorkeling in St Lucia. Surfing in Hawaii. Museum-hopping in Venice. No matter your passions, they can be ignited by a tropical vacation!
While the tropics technically encompass the geographical region between the Tropic of Cancer and the Tropic of Capricorn, the phrase "tropical climates" usually refers to climates that are warm and moist year-round. Commonly, when one thinks of "the tropics," lush islands and beaches come to mind: Puerto Rico, the Bahamas, the Caribbean, Panama, the South Pacific, Mexico, the Cayman Islands, the Mediterranean. You know, the perfect summer (and winter!) vacation spots.
Tropical vacations offer a dizzying menu of activities: surfing, sailing, snorkeling, rafting, boating, scuba diving, swimming, jet skiing, sunbathing, hiking, sightseeing, wildlife watching, shopping, wine tasting – everything but skiing and snowshoeing!
Given the overwhelming array of options, planning a tropical vacation may feel like a daunting chore. When planning your tropical vacation, first consider the location. Think about the climate, possible tourist attractions and the local flavor. How would you like to spend your tropical vacation – relaxing on the beach or taking in eclectic area attractions?
Once you’ve narrowed your search, consider your lodgings. Where would you like to stay? Resorts offer a variety of amenities, such as food, drink, relaxation, sports, entertainment and shopping – all within one self-contained complex! Resort towns are entire localities where tourism is the primary economy, which leaves you with plenty to do. On the other hand, if you’d rather stray off the beaten path, smaller, family-owned hotels and bed and breakfasts might be more your style.
When researching your trip, hit the Internet. A number of web sites allow users to review and rate hotels, vacation destinations and local attractions. Let your fellow travelers show you the way to your dream tropical vacation!
